~ArtLiaison~
the internet’s preeminent art portal
A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery, located in the historic New York Gallery Building, is offering an exclusive invitation to emerging and established artists to join in the launch of ArtLiaison, a new art website that promises to become the internet’s preeminent art portal when it debuts this summer. ArtLiaison will provide artists, art patrons, corporate clients, decorators, designers, galleries, and industry professionals with a broad scope of services, including artist listings, art databases and resources, gallery profiles, and museum listings. Specific advantages for members of the art community include:
? Artists will have a sustained web location to showcase their artwork, resumes, and collections, allowing customers and other artists to contact them through the website and purchase their works as they enjoy increased exposure. Unlike many other art websites, ArtLiaison will feature paintings, sculptures, crafts, graphic arts, ceramics, pottery, needle point, print makers, etc.
? Clients will be provided with access to thousands of artists and galleries throughout the world, with the ability to contact artists and art institutions and purchase pieces of art through the website.
? Galleries will be able to promote and exhibit their featured artists, exhibitions, and gallery programs, enabling both customers and artists to become familiar with their businesses and practices.
Each artist who chooses to participate in the ArtLiaison community will receive his/her own personal page on the site. Artists will be responsible for sending us ten images to be displayed on their webpage, as well as an updated resume and contact information; once submitted, images and resumes can be updated on a quarterly basis. Please note that the website’s directors and administrators will take care of all image/resume postings. ArtLiaison will provide artists with continuous feedback and updates from clients as well as other artists. The website will be promoted through a variety of publications, press briefings, and web resources. ArtLiaison’s homepage will feature artist spotlights, gallery openings, industry updates, and relevant museum exhibitions. Visitors to the site will be able to browse the artwork through a variety of channels that will tailor their searches to their specific interests and art needs. Artworks purchased through ArtLiaison are subject to a 20% commission. Membership to ArtLiaison is conducted on a yearly basis, with annual dues of $150.
In order to celebrate and promote the launch of ArtLiaison, artists who join the website in its first year will be eligible to take part in a series of juried exhibitions that will promote some of ArtLiaison’s most promising artists. These exhibitions will take place at A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery’s New York City location in the 2008-2009 gallery season. The special exhibitions will honor some of ArtLiaison’s members and help garner increased exposure and press for the website and its members.
The jury will consist of four individuals and will award:
First Prize: A solo exhibition for one artist for a two week period
Second Price: An eight person group exhibition for a two week period
The selected artists will be prominently featured on our website. In addition, the gallery will create direct mail invitations and host a wine and cheese opening reception for the chosen artists in order to inaugurate the exhibitions. (Please note: A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery’s current artists are not eligible to participate in the juried exhibitions)
In order to be considered for ArtLiaison’s inaugural exhibitions, please submit your resume, a CD containing up to twenty representative images of your works, and the $150 annual membership fee for ArtLiaison by bank check or money order. Please include sizes, mediums used, and prices, as well as any other additional materials that would help in our consideration of your application. All submitted materials will not be returned. The chosen artists will be responsible for all framing and shipping expenses to and from the gallery, including any optional insurance on their artworks.
Please note that the deadline for all applications is July 1, 2008.

A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery Profile
A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery, located in the New York Gallery Building, was incorporated on October 2, 1997. Prior to 1997, the gallery had its roots as Jain Gallery, a well-known New York City gallery that was founded in 1980. Jain Gallery was initially located in New York’s prominent and industry-based Decoration & Design building, the epicenter of the city’s décor and design world. During its initial years, the gallery established many formidable connections with collectors, decorators, and public clients who continue to support the gallery to this day. By the mid 1990s, Jain Gallery’s management decided to focus heavily on the representation of Asian and European art, expanding beyond its traditional line of American artists. The gallery joined forces with a number of Japanese institutions and established itself in a prominent SoHo location at the birth of the downtown art movement in New York City.
For a number of years the gallery flourished as a destination for established and emerging artists alike. It helped make art more accessible to the public and promoted its works through various publications and art fairs. As the 90s came to an end, the art market began to shift from SoHo to Chelsea and Midtown Manhattan. It was at this point that the gallery moved to its current location at New York’s Gallery Building, a ten-story complex that houses some of the city’s finest and most well-known galleries. For the past eleven years A. Jain Marunouchi gallery has exhibited and represented a diverse range of artists whose works span continents, genres, and mediums.
A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery is an institution that has been committed to exhibiting and representing fine artworks from prominent and emerging artists alike. The gallery has come to offer an extensive collection of contemporary artwork with artists from Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America. A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery has represented many fine artists at the international art fairs in Belgium, Los Angeles, Melbourne, New York, Switzerland, Tokyo and Yokohama. In addition, the gallery’s artists have been featured in Art in America, ArtNews, Asian Art Now, World Art, Art & Asia Pacific and The New York Times.
The new millennium has witnessed a surge in the popularity of contemporary art, both in the United States and abroad. In conjunction with its traditional art offerings, A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery continues in its passionate quest to promote and represent both emerging and well-established artists from across the globe. With a majority of the gallery’s artists residing in the Americas, Asia and Europe, A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery is certainly staying true to this focus. The gallery’s most recent efforts to establish the internet’s most refined and thorough art database, ArtLiaison, promises to follow in the gallery’s mission.
